This sale is for an extremely unique Californian goatskin leather riders jacket with three front pockets (two with snap closures and one with a zipper), arm pit ventilation holes on both sides, soft satin polyester lining, full Talon zip and button closure at wrists. The front pockets have a suede inner. The sleeves are lined with the same lining found on the rest of the jacket. Fits closest to a men’s small. My reference for dating this jacket, from sometime in the 1930’s, is coming from the type of talon zipper. Beautiful quality and construction.
Measurements taken flat in inches:
shoulders (shoulder seam to shoulder seam): 15.5”
chest (armpit to armpit): 17”
arm (from shoulder seam to wrist): 26”
length (from shoulder to hem): 23.25”
Condition -
This jacket is in solid vintage condition with a normal amount of wear from use including scuffs and creasing here and there. The leather is incredibly soft, not hard or brittle. There are no spots on this jacket that feel like they would be beyond repair if so desired. There are light spots of fading/creasing to be expected from a jacket that is nearly 100 years old. This jacket is as I found it - I have made no attempt at restoration. The jacket was stored folded and now has creases in the leather that will need to be worn or massaged out. No repairs, holes, or similar damages. The main zipper and pocket zipper are fully functional and move with no issues. Leather is light tan in color. Lining is clean with some minor wear - area beneath the liner appears dark and dusty. Inner pockets are a little dusty/dirty. No bad odor, must etc. This jacket is ready to be worn as-is and will continue to last a long time.
