On a neighborhood walk in Brooklyn in 2006, two rescue chihuahuas named Walter brought Bethany Obrecht and Anna Conway together. With a penchant for crafts, and inspiration from a fisherman in the family, the two created their first leashes, adorned with a numbered brass tag that reads, “FOUND.” A whole line of pet products and accessories soon followed. Thanks to both Walters, part of the proceeds from their sales go to support animal welfare and rescue organizations.
