These books etc. come from my father-in-law's estate. We have an entire weaving and yarn shop inventory to sell that was filled to the brim.
This book was found in a locked glass bookcase in my father-in-law's yarn shop.
This book is in ACCEPTABLE condition. The spine is unbroken. There is no dust jacket.
The covers have some minor ageing and/or staining and a couple of bends in the corners and one corner missing. No marks or highlighting in text. Pages have issues with minor staining.
Cover lies flat. Some color photographs. Illustrated, collectible, 1 st
edition. This book is in ACCEPTABLE condition and has many issues (see above). We called it 'acceptable' because it must have gotten wet sometime in the past. This book was obviously well loved and well used. It has a lot of staining, but we *think* it is because it got really wet. One of the back pages was stuck together (but readable). Please assume we missed something because of old eyes. Please see pictures. So, why would you want this old thing? Because it has some cool recipes for those ever-longer hot summers. Please check out the index. Look! Pinwheels sandwiches made without using a tortilla! So many puddings and desserts. Refrigerator dumplings you drop into cooking soup! Who knew? One odd point. We are going to be getting rid of all our newer cookbooks. What we are keeping are the older ones that we've been collecting for years. (This one is not one of ours). If you have a cookbook you like, see if you can find a later edition to compare to. Most newer recipes have twice the sugar, or more. So much so, you cannot taste the various spices because they are blocked by the overwhelming amount of sugar. Save the extra empty calories! Sweet is good. Cloyingly sweet is yucky! Please NOTE: Old books are heavy books. Safe shipping may move them into the next postal category. Sorry! Please NOTE: We live in Michigan and it is winter. We have the Lake Effect almost every day – massive cloud cover. We are doing the best we can with interior lighting for the pictures. Also, please NOTE: Almost every book has a smudge somewhere. We mention it if we see it, but please assume we missed something. PLEASE NOTE: Because Pricetronic is composed of soulless, bloodsucking monsters, and because it is forcing us to use an ISBN number for a book that DOES NOT have an ISBN number, and even when it DOES have an ISBN, still won’t let us use it, so we use one of a random book. Our book is pre-ISBN numbers. The Library of Congress number is not in this book. The LOC does not hyphenate when you put the number in to verify. Fake ISBN number is 9781014236289. Correct ISBN number is non-existent. We put in whichever one the system will take. Sorry! Note: We are running out of estate books and will be slowly changing over to their other possessions – some serious, some MCM, some just funky, or kitschy. Others are Depression era. Some will be brand new items, still in their packaging, and others will be more mainstream books (from one of the Grandma’s) or some of our personal books or collectables, as we are not leaving this mess to our kids. We hope you fun and stay with us.
Shipping – All books are shipped on Mondays, Wednesdays and Friday on the first day possible after payment is received around 8 to 9 AM. They are shipped by Media Mail in heavy brown paper, similar to a grocery paper bag. All wrapping and shipping materials are recycled from the cardboard to bubble wrap to 50 year old envelopes. Our packages are ugly, but are very carefully wrapped to arrive safely.
