Condition Continued: The spine has a slight to moderate forward lean, but the book is very solidly bound from cover to cover with nicely tight pages throughout and nicely tight covers as well. The pages are exceptionally clean. I have scrolled through them a good number of times and found only one small, insignificant spot at a margin They are also nicely bright. With the exception of the blank verso of the front end paper and the half-title page facing it, I'm not seeing any foxing which is nice given that the pages are glossy which sometimes equals foxing. The blank verso of the rear end paper has the slightest bit of foxing. The inside covers and end papers are yellow. They look very good. The area that the flaps on the dust jacket cover is a little lighter than the rest of the yellow on the inside covers and end papers. The bump/creases at the top corners of the front and rear cover have created an indented crease at the top corner of all of the pages. It is just below the corner, so not near to the print. I'm not seeing any other creasing on the pages. There are no markings in the book. There are no attachments of any kind. And no one has written their name or anything else anywhere. The dust jacket, as you can see, accumulated some soiling before I purchased the book some 10 years ago (the photos makes it look a little cleaner than it actually is). I have had it in a protective cover since then (that's what's causing the glare at the center of the photos of the front and rear). I can make out a closed tear on the spine near to the top edge of it, also a small loss from the same area. I'm not seeing any other conspicuous tears, the protective cover does make it a little harder to find them. I don't see any other losses either. The flaps are in very good shape. The jacket is NOT price-clipped, not clipped at all. F. W. Dodge Corporation, New York, 1961. Hardcover in Dust Jacket. Written by James Gardner and Caroline Heller. Second printing, 1961. This is a very rare book. I found only one other copy for sale on the Internet. It is priced at $95.00 and lacks a dust jacket. My copy has a dust jacket and is priced $30.00 lower. From the dust jacket: 'Here is an authoritative, eminently practical study in which every aspect of exhibition and display receives detailed analysis and evaluation. It will be equally useful to those in charge of store displays, whether in windows or sales floors, and to those designing industrial and government exhibits or the mammoth projects of international scale such as world trade fairs and expositions. This new book studies the problems of designing exhibits to explain, create atmosphere, and sell; one or more of these activities is the object of any exhibit. It also examines the methods used to achieve these objectives and the principles underlying these methods. Thorough criticism of scores of displays applies the principles in a practical way. For the specialist, there is a technical appendix on procedure. This book's analysis is made more graphic by lively collection of over 350 photographs and line drawings showing exhibitions good and bad, past and present, from nearly every country of the world.'
