SHEELEY BROS."THE MAVERICK" MID 1930's HORSEHIDE JACKET- EDGEWATER

You are now admiring one of my mid 1930's horsehide motor cycle type jackets aka The Maverick in this case the likeness of an upgraded Mulholland. Let me tell you about your proposed build. To begin, no jacket seen in the descriptive images attached are available for sale here. Rather, fine examples of the same model jacket you can expect to have me custom build for you. I refer to this particular jacket's pattern as "The Edgewater" and have designed several different model jackets using this pattern. This same pattern was derived from a jacket design favored by early aviators. Edgewater is the namesake of one time call name for my late father & career USN attack pilot. The name Maverick stems from VA-152 Mavericks The Light Bombardment And Twilight Pursuit Squadron. Which was a Vietnam era attack squadron he once commanded. One of the hand full of original work jackets that I used for this Edgewater pattern can be seen in the last of the descriptive images on my zip up model ( eBay item # 402706904571 ) &
jacket that utilizes this same fundamental pattern. Recognizable because of It's natural colored hide and built between 1935 &1937. Most notably, I also own other even earlier originals from this same maker. All of which closely follow this jacket's same design now offered here. This jacket's overall elements were revived by me utilizing the original over all design to include the best aspects of several vintage maker's designs to create this jacket. All as seen within the jacket examples in the attached descriptive images. Among those innovative features from this vintage design are it's original body panel configuration, collar, inset and rotated half gusseted sleeves. All of which is based on a fairly complicated design and not particularly conducive to mass production in general. Because of this jacket's more complicated upgraded designs & inherent additional needed details makes this jacket all the more unique & seldom utilized by most makers.  However, all of which culminates into an upgraded & wonderfully comfortable jacket as offered here.
This build can be done using either the standard reinforced seams or upgraded to the French type seams as seen within the descriptive images.
One of the notably changes and standard upgrades I made to this jacket was the addition of a leather hanger. None of which were ever found present on any of my five originals. Done using a leather compatible vintage bar tack machine. The exact same machine used by Bronco on their War era A-2. All of which adds to the unique overall look for this jacket.
Likewise my button holes are all done using my 1940's vintage Reece 101 buttonhole machine. Which was refurbished and now maintained by me. Not to mention, if done using French seams among the 5 different machines I will be using to construct your build complete. Offered here at this price point using Italian horse hide in sizes 36 through 48.  As seen with three zip out side and two inside pockets & seen in the provided pix.
