Ultimate A-List TOM FORD $4,400 w/tax Black Suede / Merino Wool Bomber Jacket, Impeccable Details – Made In Italy Selling this for a friend, but I own and have owned multiple of these. Even with as many jackets as I have, my “go to” for casual around the house and quick errands are these TOM FORD moto knits. You get the look of a jacket with the stretch and comfort of a knit. Especially in a time where leisure and athleisure has been soaring, these are a perfect add to your wardrobe. These also make great layering pieces under bigger jackets/coats when cold; which is often how Tom Ford styles them in their lookbooks. Tom makes a number of versions of these (see reference photos), but this bomber version is at the top. This is from a high point era I feel Tom was doing his best work and have long been a favorite of the A-List crowd. Retail with L.A. tax was just under $4,400. The details throughout are impeccable, especially the fine knit stitching (I included reference in other colors so you can see it better). Mr Tom Ford’s design philosophy is simple: don’t settle for anything less than perfection. “Menswear is a detail-driven business” This is perhaps the most Mr Tom Ford-esque of Mr Ford’s statements. Mr Ford’s dogged commitment to perfectionism is renowned. And details? Well, those are the things that keep said business running. Menswear, after all, has long been ruled by strict conventions, and there are only so many ways you can reinvent a button-down shirt or chinos. Instead, it’s those tiny tweaks and improvements – a mother-of-pearl button here, a well-placed pleat there – that sort the bog-standard from the superior. While I’ve owned many high end leather jackets over the years, nothing else fits or feels like a Tom Ford: the fit through the body and shoulders creates that idealized masculine V-taper and the details are just jaw-dropping. SIZE NOTE This is yet another example of what I tell people all the time, TOM FORD’s official sizes are just a guide, you really need to go by measurements! I have multiples of the exact same piece in different sizes and colors, yet when you hold them up together they are exactly the same – sometimes even 2 sizes apart. Other times the differences are minimal like only .5 inches. Oddly this is a tag size 54 IT, but it fits me well! I'm 6 feet, 180lbs for fit pic reference. I'm typically a comfortable size 50 EU (40 US) and fitted 48 (38 US). My tailor said I’m a natural 21 inch chest, 18 inch shoulder and 25 inch shoulder-to-wrist for fit pic reference.
