Ultimate Rare $9,000 with LA Tax TOM FORD Tan Suede Leather Field Jacket, Incredible Details – FITS A 48/50 IT, 38/40 US, SEE TAILORING NOTE BELOW GQ said it best: If money is truly no object, Tom Ford makes holy-grail-level leather jackets so beautiful they bring a tear to the eye. That’s just what the best jackets for men do. They make you stand a little taller, speak with a little more conviction, and seem altogether more alluring. They are like the pill Bradley Cooper takes in the movie Limitless, only they unlock genuine cool instead of psychotic ambition. Of course, confidence of that magnitude doesn’t come cheap. These jackets will keep you feeling like your very best self for years and years to come. Most of TOM FORD’s leather jackets run around $5-$6K. Every now and then he releases pieces at an even higher level of detail . These longer full suede jackets and blazers tend to run between $8-$10K! (see price reference). You can wear it in a variety of ways, open, buttoned, collar up or down – it all looks amazing. I tried this on in store (see photo) and absolutely loved it, but had some other priorities. When I went back it was gone and sold out everywhere! As you can see from the price reference it was $8000 plus tax. My stylist connections later found me one in a size 56. The suede calf leather is so luxe and the way it reflects light it can look a little more brown or a little more tan depending on the environment as you can see in the photo reference. TAILORING NOTE Tom Ford sizing can run the gamut. I knew from the measurements this would work and I could dial it in with my amazing tailor. I’m typically a size 52 in TF, but have everything from 48-56’s in my collection. It depends on the materials, cut, design, etc. You can see this in my other TOM FORD leather croc biker jacket in a 56 overlaid with a TF size 50 of the same design; it’s not that big a jump. We shortened the sleeves, took it in through the body a bit and raised the armholes to match the in store fit reference – the only note is it slightly impinges raising your arms, but it’s relatively minor (see video demonstrating this) and less of an issue when worn open. All of this was an extra $375, but got the fit perfect and a big improvement. The details throughout on this are unreal: – The signature leather Tom Ford grab handle on the back of the neck – The insanely intricate stitching details throughout – The black tonal leather contrast accents lining the pockets – The incredible horn buttons – The luxurious lining which helps it slip on and off with ease Mr Tom Ford’s design philosophy is simple: don’t settle for anything less than perfection. And that maxim applies as much to a plain cotton T-shirt as it does a wool barathea tuxedo with all the trimmings. Achieving perfection, of course, is harder than it looks. “Menswear is a detail-driven business” —Tom Ford MY SIZING FOR FIT PIC REFERENCE I'm 6 feet, 180lbs for fit pic reference.
