Hard to find WW2 M43 field jacket used by a US Marine. Uncommon to find M43’s that have seen service in the Corps.
Excellent condition original M43 field jacket in size 38R with name painted across back on heavy black tar like paint in typical US Marine Corps fashion, first 2 initials, “R.J.”followed by his last name that cannot be clearly made out. What is very clear is that this Marine’s abbreviated name or nickname was “HNDO” which is inked below with 3 lines above the D.
The cuffs and collar on this jacket are perfect. The only issues I see are a L shaped tear by one inner button hole and 3 of the front buttons are broken as shown in the photos. All of these will be hidden when displayed. Also, the pocket tag is washed out as is common.
