Offered here is this beautiful and very rare 1950s Notre Dame Football Varsity Jacket made by Champion Knitwear. Purchased from the estate of a Notre Dame football player. Features a very rare felt patch of football player in 1940s era uniform. Displays very nicely, very recognizable, it is a great item to have in any collection!
Body is made out of wool, cuffs are made out of cotton knit, pockets are lined with cotton flannel, sleeves are made of vinyl.
It is in fair condition. Sleeve cuffs and neck band have some wear. Sleeves are made of vinyl and have dried out, shows minor spots of cracking and wear. The sleeves could be rehydrated, replaced with leather, or just left as is for display. The jacket is not very wearable because of the stiff vinyl. It does have a great color and displays wonderfully. Perfect wall hanger, really grabs people’s attention.
Size large. Measurements are in photos. This jacket will be shipped laid flat in a cardboard box.
